The French Space Agency, CNES, is seeking a motivated geodesist. The main role is to coordinate activities in the framework of our IGS Analysis Center: participate in IGS working groups, evaluate and improve the orbit products, and represent CNES. Secondly, to develop and promote scientific use of GNSS data, e.g. precise point positioning, precision orbit determination, time transfer, ionosphere research, and to present results at conferences and to publish in scientific journals.
We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in Geodesy or in Earth Sciences and proven research experience. Rigorous analysis and organizational skills, ability to work efficiently and in a timely manner both independently and in a team, as well as excellent communication skills in French and English are required for this job. Strong programming skills, ideally in Fortran, python and Linux scripting are essential.
The successful candidate will join the Space Geodesy Office of CNES, which is part of the mixed research unit 'Géosciences Environnement Toulouse'. The Space Geodesy Office is responsible for positioning, gravity field modeling, and space weather. There are strong collaborations with other CNES teams, French national institutes, and international partners.
