Dear All,
The IGS recently held another event in its Tour de l’’IGS series entitled Tour de l’IGS 5th Stop : GNSS for Natural Hazards in the South Pacific. Video recordings of the meeting can be accessed at
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7mxFN-wm-6aLIHlPaY00EBW_qmijUYfz

The meeting discussed the many perspectives and initiatives being undertaken by the nations of the South Pacific to apply GNSS technology to the mitigation of the region’s natural hazards. One of those presentations discussed the proposals by the IUGG, IGS, and ICG for the establishment of a GNSS Tsunami Early Warning System (GTEWS) for the Pacific and the challenges presented to the effort. We proposed that the nations of the South Pacific and other international agencies and organizations consider the development of a regional GTEWS-Oceania.
