The Geophysics Laboratory at the University of Luxembourg has a vacancy for a highly motivated
PHD RESEARCHER IN GNSS DATA ANALYSIS
The Geophysics Laboratory carries out world leading research in the monitoring and interpretation of environmental and geophysical processes using space geodetic and gravity measurements, conducts investigations in various locations around the world, including Greenland, Antarctica and the South Atlantic Ocean. Amongst its activities are its contributions to the International GNSS Service (IGS) Tide Gauge Benchmark Monitoring (TIGA) Working Group, the EUMETNET EIG GNSS water vapour programme (E-GVAP), and related to that also the COST Action ES1206 “Advanced Global Navigation Satellite Systems tropospheric products for monitoring severe weather events and climate”.
The PhD researcher will be working as part of the Geophysics Laboratory team and will
- carry out research and prepare a doctoral thesis in the field of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) applied to geodetic monitoring, and
- contribute to the activities of the team, including those of the IGS TIGA and E-GVAP analysis centres.
The successful candidate will have a Master degree in Geodesy, Geophysics, Mathematics or any related subject area will have or is willing to acquire in-depth programming competency as well as excellent communication and analytical skills.
