Department 1 „Geodesy and Remote Sensing“, Section 1.1 „GPS/Galileo Earth
Observation" invites applications for a 

 

Research scientist (f/m)

 

 

Tasks:

The candidate will participate in the further development of the GFZ
real-time GNSS analysis software EPOS-RT for various geoscientific
applications. He/She is expected to contribute in particular to: 

·        Development and implementation of new analysis algorithms

·        Improvement of the robustness and accuracy of the software package 

·        Operational data processing of the IGS Real-time Data Analysis
Centre at GFZ

·        Application of the software for geophysical monitoring (volcanos,
seismic events, atmosphere)

 

Qualification:

·        Diploma or MSc in geosciences, geodesy, informatics, mathematics or
physics; PhD degree desirable but not necessary

·        Experience in GNSS software development and data processing using
advanced analysis techniques

·        Very good programming skills in C/C++ or FORTRAN, and Perl under
Unix/Linux

·        Willingness to work in an interdisciplinary and international team 

·        Good command of English

 

 


Start:

as soon as possible


Duration:

2 years with option for prolongation by 1 year


Salary:

EG 13/14 TVöD-O, depending on qualification
