Dear Colleagues,

Please consider submitting an abstract to our ³Ionospheric Space Weather
Events and Models Session² of the upcoming URSI National Radio Science
Meeting at the University of Colorado, Boulder, CO, January 4-7, 2012.
The deadline for abstract submission is Friday, Sept 23, 2011.

Ionospheric Space Weather Events and Models Session
Convenors: Anthea Coster of MIT Haystack Observatory and Attila Komjathy
of NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory

This session will focus on the ionospheric and space weather events that
may impact telecommunications and navigation systems. It will also cover
all areas of ionospheric space weather research including modeling and
observations. Of particular interest are papers describing the assessment
and validation of space weather models, and the need for new ground and
space-borne measurements. Studies and investigations addressed to
modeling, forecasting and/or mitigations of ionospheric phenomena due to
space weather events such as ionospheric irregularities, disturbances and
scintillations are also welcome.

To submit your abstract, go to www.nrsmboulder.org and select ³Abstract
Submissions². Login accounts from previous years, including the last two
URSI General Assemblies, are still active, so there is no need to create a
new account. If you have been invited to submit an abstract to a Special
Session, log in to the abstract submission web site, choose your
Commission, and then browse the topic list for the appropriate special
session topic marked as ³Special Session². Finally, we would like to
remind you that when your abstract has been uploaded in the correct
format, please change its status from ³Draft² to ³Submitted². You can
still make changes until the abstract deadline.

Please feel free to distribute this to your colleagues. We look forward to
hearing from you.

Best wishes,

Anthea Coster <ajc at haystack.mit.edu>
