Dear Colleague,

We would like to draw your attention to session G03 - "Continental
Deformation, Post-glacial Rebound, Sea Level and Coastal Inundation" at
upcoming AGU Fall Meeting.

Please notice that we are planning to produce a Geological Society
Special Publication (to appear in the Lyell Collection,
http://www.lyellcollection.org) from papers in the session.

Kind regards,

Riccardo Riva

Bert Vermeersen

Session description:
Changes in the Earth's shape and gravity have a direct effect on sea
level. Those changes are mainly due to mass transport taking place below
the surface, to the elastic response of the lithosphere to variations in
surface loading (both natural and anthropogenic) and to tectonics. The
time-scales of these processes vary from seconds (earthquakes) to
decades (anthropogenic) to centuries (deltaic processes) to millennia
(Glacial Isostatic Adjustment), and the magnitude of the induced
sea-level changes at local and regional scales is often comparable to
the effect of climatic changes. We welcome contributions that discuss
solid earth processes affecting coastal sea level, including modeling
results, geodetic measurements, historical and geological records.
