Dear Colleagues:

We intend on changing the layout of the Geoscience Australia FTP server on November 10, 2009 at 00:00Z (DoY 314). The directory structure of the FTP server has been re-organised
so that it is easier to find GNSS data, as well as accommodating the publication of routine analytical solutions.

It is hoped that the new archive structure will improve the reliability and latency of data products produced by Geoscience Australia.

If there are any comments or concerns with the proposed FTP server structure please direct them to geodesy at ga.gov.au.

The details of the proposed FTP structure are as follows:

A description of each of the folders is as follows:

ftp://ftp.ga.gov.au/geodesy/gnss/data

- contains all publicly releasable GNSS data collected by Geoscience Australia and other GNSS stations which have been invited to submit GNSS data to Geoscience Australia.

ftp://ftp.ga.gov.au/geodesy/gnss/data/campaign

- contains data holdings from GNSS campaigns conducted by Geoscience Australia. The typical structure for a GNSS campaign is:

    ./campaign/antarctica/2009/
                              logs/site/
                              photos/site/
                              raw/site/
                              rinex/YYDDD/

ftp://ftp.ga.gov.au/geodesy/gnss/data/daily

- contains a complete archive of all continuous GNSS stations operated by Geoscience Australia, as well as GNSS data from invited continuously operated GNSS stations. The data
will be held in standard hatanaka compressed RINEX format collected at a rate of 30 seconds.

ftp://ftp.ga.gov.au/geodesy/gnss/data/hourly

- contains a rolling two week archive of hourly RINEX files from GNSS stations operated by Geoscience Australia, as well as GNSS data from invited continuously operated GNSS
stations. The intended use is for processes which require data in 'near-real-time', such as the computation of rapid orbits.

ftp://ftp.ga.gov.au/geodesy/gnss/data/highrate

- contains a rolling two week archive of RINEX files that are 15 minutes in duration and sampled at 1 second. These products are obtained from the real-time streams hosted by
the Geoscience Australia NTRIP caster (http://192.104.43.25:2101/home) using the BNC program. The intended use is for organisations requiring data products to be used in
'near-real-time' such as the computation of ultra-rapid orbits. The archive may also be useful to users wanting 1 second data products.

ftp://ftp.ga.gov.au/geodesy/gnss/logs

- is an archive of station logs operated by Geoscience Australia and invited GNSS stations. The station logs are in IGS format and contain basic metadata on each site.

ftp://ftp.ga.gov.au/geodesy/gnss/xml

- is an archive of an xml representation of the station logs, following the SOPAC schema (http://sopac.ucsd.edu/projects/xml).

ftp://ftp.ga.gov.au/geodesy/gnss/skel

- contains the RINEX header for each station available on the Geoscience Australia NTRIP caster (http://192.104.43.25:2101/home). This is intended for users making use of the
real-time streams to create their own RINEX files, using the BKG BNC program (http://igs.bkg.bund.de).

ftp://ftp.ga.gov.au/geodesy/gnss/solutions/rapid/daily

- contains an archive of daily SINEX files of data processed by Geoscience Australia on a routine basis using the IGS rapid orbits.

ftp://ftp.ga.gov.au/geodesy/gnss/solutions/final/daily

- contains an archive of daily SINEX files of data processed by Geoscience Australia on a routine basis using the IGS final orbits.

ftp://ftp.ga.gov.au/geodesy/gnss/solutions/final/weekly

- contains an archive of weekly SINEX files, combined from the final daily solutions, of data processed by Geoscience Australia on a routine basis.

ftp://ftp.ga.gov.au/geodesy/gnss/products

- yet to be implemented, watch this space.

ftp://ftp.ga.gov.au/geodesy/gnss/reports

- contains weekly reports on the daily GNSS data archive. Reports are based on the GPS week.

ftp://ftp.ga.gov.au/geodesy/gravity/absolute

- contains an archive of absolute gravimeter data collected by Geoscience Australia.

ftp://ftp.ga.gov.au/geodesy/gravity/relative

- contains and archive of relative gravimeter data collected by Geoscience Australia.

ftp://ftp.ga.gov.au/geodesy/gravity/ausgeoid

- contains the AUSGEOID98 grid file and any future releases of AUSGEOID.

ftp://ftp.ga.gov.au/geodesy/slr/

- contains an archive of SINEX files

ftp://ftp.ga.gov.au/geodesy/vlbi/docs

- contains documentation on VLBI related topics.

ftp://ftp.ga.gov.au/geodesy/vlbi/results/

- contains an archive of SINEX files, times-series and ICRF, ITRF and EOP solutions from VLBI data processed by Geoscience Australia.

ftp://ftp.ga.gov.au/geodesy/vlbi/software

- contains the latest version of the OCCAM software and previous releases.

ftp://ftp.ga.gov.au/geodesy/doris

- contains an archive of SINEX files

ftp://ftp.ga.gov.au/geodesy/local_ties/SINEX

- contains an archive of past SINEX files from local tie surveys

ftp://ftp.ga.gov.au/geodesy/local_ties/Reports/

- pdf reports of local tie surveys
