Site ID: RESO
DOMES No: 40149M001
Location: Resolute (Cornwallis Island), Nunavut, Canada
Agency: Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), Geodetic Survey Division
Advisory: RESO receiver problems continue
The new Ashtech Micro-Z receiver installed at RESO on 2003-05-26 (DOY
146) is experiencing problems locking on to low elevation satellites.
The problem is made worse by the fact that, at this location, the
satellites are at low elevation angles most of the time. We are
therefore missing almost half of the expected observations.
The same receiver had previously been installed at HOLM (2002-11-26
to 2003-04-03) and experienced the same problem, although not to this
extent. We have contacted Thales about the problem and hope to have a
replacement receiver installed shortly.
