Dear IGS Colleagues,
We have installed the following two new Canadian regional GPS stations, both of which are in the Canadian Arctic:

ALRT - Alert, Nunavut (Ellesmere Island); N82-30 / W62-20
SACH - Sachs Harbour, Northwest Territories (Banks Island); N71-59 / W125-15

Note that ALRT is presently the most northerly permanent GPS station in the IGS network.

Current GPS data is available at CDDIS. Data is available from July 16 (Day 197) for ALRT and from October 3 (Day 276) for SACH. Both stations are equipped with Ashtech uZ receivers and choke ring antennas. You can find the site logs at

<ftp://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/igscb/station/log/alrt_20021211.log>
<ftp://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/igscb/station/log/sach_20021210.log>

As with all of our Arctic stations, data latency can sometimes be as much as a few days due to communications difficulties with these remote sites.

Best regards,

Mike Craymer, Ph.D.
