Dear Jim, dear colleagues,

according to the system administrator at the computer department of the
University of Berne, no malfunction of hardware nor software components
at our side could be identified for the time period between last Friday
and this Monday. No computer maintenance service has been done here at
the University of Berne, neither planned nor unplanned. In our ftp log
files we may recognize more or less as many access requests (over 10000)
as during previous days. In case somebody had made unusual observations,
however, feedback is welcome.
