As of 5 January 2025, UNBJ's Javad (TPS) Legacy receiver stopped working correctly. A hard-coded firmware GPS end-of-week rollover related date resulted in erroneous dates for recorded observation files for this date onwards. As there had been no further firmware updates for this vintage receiver (continuously operating since 2001, initially as UNB1), we have had to retire it as the UNBJ station receiver. We have replaced it with a Topcon (TPS) Net-G3, also a geriatric receiver but one we had on hand and which was more or less compatible with our UNBJ recording and processing set-up. We resumed sending hourly and daily RINEX files to CDDIS and SOPAC on 16 January 2025. An updated UNBJ station logfile will be sent to IGS shortly.
