[IGSSTATION-7741] POLARX5 memory pool problem with firmware 5.2.0

Dear Colleagues,

The POLARX5 firmware version 5.2.0 has behavior where the data files may not be properly deleted per the configured time allocations for each logging session, so if you have high-rate sessions they may been overwriting other sessions much more quickly than expected. Station operators should be aware of the 5.2.0 bug and attempt to mitigate any resulting data loss by checking data holdings and disabling higher rate sessions if a larger file buffer is needed for other sessions.

More details and instructions can be found on the Knowledge Base: https://kb.unavco.org/kb/article/septentrio-polarx5-resource-page-838.html

Septentrio has released firmware version 5.3.0 for POLARX5 receivers. In addition to the introduction of new features such as L1C and Beidou3 tracking, a “lite” low bandwidth web interface, and PPP data communications to support serial dial-up connections, there is a critical bug fix that has been affecting the memory pool since the introduction of 5.2.0 18 months ago.

Best Regards,
David Maggert
