Advisory:  SACH decommissioned, monument to be destroyed

We regret to inform the IGS community that, with little notice, the Northwest Territories Power Corporation has decided remove our SACH monument from the old windmill foundation. They are using the site for the installation of large satellite dish to bring broadband Internet to the community.

As there is no other stable site available in Sachs Harbour, and because we lack the funds to install another, we have removed our equipment as of today. Yesterday (Day 289) was the last full day of a three year series of data. We hope that proposed funding initiatives will enable us to eventually install a new monument in the not too distant future.
