Dear IGS Community,

It was wonderful hosting so many of you during the 2026 IGS Symposium
and Workshop in Santiago, Chile ! *Presentations, recordings, and
pictures of the event are now available on the IGS Website at
https://igs.org/workshop/2026/.*

The IGS Central Bureau and Governing Board extend their sincere and
heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in the preparation, execution, and
attendance of this forefront IGS event, the first one on the
South-American continent !

We thank and congratulate the *Local and Scientific Organising
Committees*, chaired respectively by José Antonio Tarrío Mosquera and
Gustavo Caubarrère, for the successful preparation and execution of this
event. We express our sincere gratitude to the *Universidad de Santiago
de Chile (USACH)*, as well as its *co-organisers* and *sponsors*, for
hosting and supporting this event.

We also recognise the efforts of the *Session Chairs* for preparing
exciting sessions and curating an excellent program, our *Keynote
Speakers* for providing their focused perspectives, and *all presenters*
for delivering exemplary talks and posters. We also thank the *USACH
students* and *spontaneous on-site volunteers* (notably Franco Sobrero
and Betsy Loaiza Jiménez) for their support during the event.

I would also like to personally thank the entire *IGS Central Bureau*
for supporting the many unseen aspects underpinning this keystone event.
In particular, *Robert Khachikyan* was a crucial component for all
technical aspects of the CB, and *Mara Figueroa* was the pivotal Central
Bureau representative linking the organisation and successful in-person
execution of this event.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, we would like to thank the *IGS
Community* for engaging with this event and for trusting us to host it
for the benefit of science and society. Our international collaboration
is what makes the IGS such a wonderful space to work and evolve in !

We are looking forward to seeing you at the next IGS Symposium and
Workshop in Tsukuba (Japan) in 2028 ; more information about this event
will be announced in 2027.

Thank you very much,
Kind regards,

Camille Martire, on behalf of the IGS Central Bureau.
