between Geodesy and Space Weather: providing improvement to GNSS real-time
applications.” will be part of the AGU 2023 Fall Meeting that will be held
in San Francisco (USA) next December.
We would like to encourage you to consider submitting an abstract to this
focused session, and to forward this announcement to others that may be
interested in this topic.

*Session Description:*

Space Geodesy (SG) and space weather (SW) are two fields of study closely
connected. Their synergistic relationship has numerous benefits. GNSS
signals can be used to construct SW models which can be applied back to
improve GNSS quality. GNSS signals are vulnerable to disruptions caused by
SW events. At low latitude regions, the occurrence of Equatorial Plasma
Bubbles makes the vulnerability still more evident due to the occurrence of
ionospheric scintillation (IS), which deteriorates the quality of the
signal and, in some cases, even makes GNSS unavailable. Therefore, several
GNSS real-time applications suffer from such events.To mitigate the impacts
on GNSS and improve their integrity in real-time applications, SW and IS
data to model and forecast ionospheric effects on GNSS signals are
essential. In this session, we expect to get contributions related to the
improvement of GNSS accuracy and integrity when the signal is subject to
irregularities due to SW.
