I am pleased to inform you that the vacancy announcement for Supervisory
Geodesist, ZP-1372-5,  in the National Geodetic Survey, Silver Spring, MD
has posted to usajobs.gov. This position is for the Chief of the
Geosciences Research Division at NGS and will perform the following duties:


   - Provide authoritative leadership and program oversight for the
   National Geodetic Survey’s (NGS), Geosciences Research Division (GRD).
   - Provide technical advice on geodetic applications and complex problems
   involving physical and space geodesy, precise positioning and remote
   sensing.
   - Supervise and manage a diverse scientific and technical workforce.
   - Manage program operations for scientific missions in support of
   defining, maintaining and providing access to the National Spatial
   Reference System.
   - Communicate the importance of geodetic products and services to
   Federal, state and local users of geospatial data, enhancing partnerships
   and increasing transferability of geodetic tools, methods, techniques and
   technologies.


The announcement opened on Monday, July 11, 2022 , and will close Tuesday,
