[IGSMAIL-7918] IGS 2020 Workshop Postponed to 2021

Dear IGS Community Member,



Our global IGS community continues to adapt to the impacts of COVID-19, and
we send our sincerest wishes for good health and fortitude to you all.



After careful and thorough consideration, *the IGS 2020 Workshop Local
Organizing Committee has decided to postpone our workshop originally
scheduled to take place from 10 to 14 August to early 2021*. The LOC and
IGS Governing Board Executive Committee believe that this is in the best
interest of our community’s health and well-being.



Final scheduling of the new 2021 workshop dates will be announced soon.
Currently, the LOC is investigating dates in mid-March 2021, but this is
subject to confirmation and future pandemic circumstances. The new dates
will also be directly influenced by uncertainty surrounding legal
restrictions on international travel. The Governing Board and Central
Bureau are facing challenges on how to best address the various options for
holding meetings virtually, and appreciate your feedback and patience
during this time as we try to find workable solutions within the changing
circumstances.



Our sincere thanks to all of you for doing your part with quarantines,
social distancing, and isolation.
