This position Research Associate in GNSS Integrity Monitoring is a member of the UNSW research team for an Australian Research Council (ARC)-funded project “Trustworthy Positioning for Next Generation Intelligent Transport Systems”.
About the role
* $71K - $95K plus 9.5% superannuation and leave loading
* Fixed Term 22 months
* Full-time (35 hours per week)
Major tasks of this position are:
1. to undertake research activities consistent with the aims of this ARC project, including participation in algorithm development, data collection, performance of computations, analysis of results, publication of papers in peer-reviewed journals and conference presentations;
2. to assist some teaching and administrative activities within the School, only as agreed with the line manager.
About the successful applicant
To be successful in this role you will:
* A PhD in GNSS precise positioning, navigation, mapping, geodesy or a closely related scientific/engineering field.
* Demonstrated expertise and experience in: a) Integrity Monitoring theory and application; b) one or more of scientific precise GNSS positioning software packages; c) scientific programming in Matlab, and Python or C languages.
* A proven or emerging track record of self-motivated progress in academic research, including publication in peer-reviewed journals, and a demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
* High-quality written and oral communication skills in the English language.
* Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
