   The National Geodetic Survey is seeking applicants for the position 
of Chief Geodesist.  Please find below links to the job posting.  The 
job is open to any U.S. Citizen with the appropriate qualifications.  
The basic duties are:

  * Provide authoritative and technical advice on geodetic applications
    and complex problems involving physical and space geodesy, precise
    positioning, and remote sensing.
  * Formulate and implement specialized research program that advances
    all nationwide geodetic programs in support of defining,
    maintaining, and providing access to the National Spatial Reference
    System.
  * Communicate the importance of geodetic products and services to
    international, federal, state, and local users of geospatial data,
    enhancing partnerships; and increasing transferability of geodetic
    tools, methods, techniques, and technologies.
