Symposium on Earth Rotation in July 2016 - Deadline extended
Please note that the deadline for abstract submission for this symposium
has been extended to 15 May 2016.
GEODESY, ASTRONOMY AND GEOPHYSICS IN EARTH ROTATION (GAGER2016)
- A Joint IAU / IAG / IERS Symposium
18 July - 23 July 2016, Wuhan, Hubei, China
GAGER2016 Lectures
24 July 2016, Wuhan, Hubei, China
Theme of the symposium
All the submitted abstracts should be related to Earth rotation,
including but not limited to the following topics:
- Theoretical modeling of Earth's rotation
- Modeling of Earth's gravity, figure, (an)elasticity and rheology for
Earth rotation studies
- Modeling of atmosphere-ocean and solid Earth-ocean interactions
- Observation, analysis and prediction of Earth rotation variations
- Contributions of satellite gravimetry to Earth rotation studies
- Ring laser gyroscopes' contributions to ultra-high-frequency Earth
rotation variations
- Geophysical excitations of Earth rotation variations
- Constraints of the physics and dynamics the Earth's interior from
Earth rotation observations
Special Issue of a SCI Journal
All contributions from this workshop are encouraged to submit to a
special issue of a SCI-indexed journal.
GAGER2016 Lectures
The GAGER2016 Lectures, to be held after and associated with the Joint
IAU / IAG / IERS Symposium, aims to provide fundamental and essential
knowledge on Earth rotation and related Earth dynamics to young
researchers and PhD students through some short lectures given by some
distinguished researchers. The Lectures are expected to play important
role in passing down scientific knowledge to the young generation.
Invited Speakers for GAGER2016 Lectures:
Aleksander Brzezinski
Space Research Center, PAS, Poland
Benjamin Fong Chao
Academia Sinica, Taipei
Veronique Dehant
Royal Observatory of Belgium, Belgium
Jose Ferrandiz
Universidad de Alicante, Spain
Richard Gross
Jet Propulsion Laboratory, USA
Cheng-Li Huang
Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, CAS, China
