Dear Colleagues

I want to let you know that I will retire from the National Geodetic Survey
July 1 after 35 years of federal service. It has been a privilege to work
here and I am truly grateful for the countless interesting opportunities
and challenges I've encountered during my career. It is especially
rewarding to see how the IGS has grown and thrives as the premier source of
GNSS products and expertise. It has been a pleasure and inspiration to have
met and worked with so many of you over the years. Please continue your
excellent work.

Although I'm leaving NGS, I am not retiring completely. On September 1 I
will begin a 1 year Congressional Fellowship sponsored by the Institute of
Navigation (ION) and the American Association for the Advancement of
Science (AAAS). The plan is to provide advice to some lucky senator or
senate committee. We'll see what happens.
