Dear Colleagues -

As part of the 2014 Fall Meeting of the AGU that will be held in San Francisco, California during 15-19 December 2014<x-apple-data-detectors://0> there will be a session on "The Global Geodetic Observing System: Improving Geodetic Observations for Science and Society". The description of the session is given below.

On behalf if the conveners I would like to draw your attention to this session and encourage you to participate in it.  We are developing a rich session that will showcase the improvements to the geodetic observing systems that are being planned or that are currently underway. I hope that you will be able to join us in San Francisco for this exciting session. Please note that abstracts must be submitted to AGU by August 6, 2014<x-apple-data-detectors://2>.

Session ID# 2600: The Global Geodetic Observing System: Improving Geodetic Observations for Science and Society.

The IAG's Global Geodetic Observing System (GGOS) provides the fundamental ground- and space-based geodetic observations needed for numerous scientific and societal applications. Current efforts to modernize existing ground-based systems and to develop future space-based systems will lead to improvements in the accuracy, latency, and resolution of these observations. This session is a forum for discussing improvements to the geodetic observing systems and for their use by science and society.
