[IGSMAIL-6378] IUGG Abstracts solicited for Sendai earthquake, other recent disasters

Abstracts for posters about the Sendai earthquake and several other  
recent events are being accepted until April 11, for the upcoming IUGG  
meeting in Melbourne (June-July). See the link below for details.

The IUGG 2011 Scientific Program Committee invites the submission of  
abstracts on original work to be considered for poster presentation at  
the upcoming IUGG General Assembly. Only abstracts/posters dealing  
with the recent Pacific Rim Disasters will be accepted:

Sendai Earthquake, Tsunami and Nuclear Reactor Disaster (March 2011)
Chile Earthquake and Tsunami (February 2010)
Hurricane Yasi and the Brisbane Floods (February 2011)
Christchurch Earthquake (February 2011)

Poster abstracts may be submitted for any of:

U-02 Symposium extension: "Earth on the Edge - Recent Pacific Rim  
Disasters"
S19 IASPEI Symposium following U-02: "The Christchurch Earthquake".
JV10 IAVCEI-led Joint Symposium "Volcanic and Seismic Issues Related  
to Siting of Nuclear Facilities" focussed on the Japan Nuclear Reactor  
disaster.
JM10 IAMAS-led Joint Symposium "Monsoons, Tropical Cyclones and  
Tropical Dynamics" focussed on Cyclone Yasi and the Tsunamis of Chile  
and Japan.
