Information on the updates to the IERS Conventions

The IERS Conventions Center informs of the following update:

Chapter 8 "Tidal Variations in the Earth's Rotation" has been updated on
26 March 2010, see http://tai.bipm.org/iers/convupdt/convupdt_c8.html.

The model to evaluate the effects of zonal Earth tides on the Earth's
rotation has been updated, with software included, and a model to
evaluate tidal variations in polar motion and polar motion excitation
due to long period ocean tides has been added (from R. Gross).

The subroutine RG_ZONT2 is provided to compute the effects of zonal
Earth tides on the rotation of the Earth (from R. Gross).
