Dear colleagues,
We would like to draw your attention to a specific session in the next
Beacon Satellite Symposium (BSS2010).
The Beacon Satellite Symposium will be held June 7-11, 2010 at Barcelona,
Spain. You will find information on the technical sessions, the
registration form, hotel information, etc, at the website:
www.bc.edu/beacon
The TEC measurements and models session will cover the following items:
Radio signals crossing the Ionosphere are affected by several effects
(like signal delay) whose main dependency is on the ionospheric Total
Electron Content (TEC). The magnitude and behaviour of the TEC will then
have an impact on the radio techniques measurements.
For many applications (like communication and navigation), those
measurements will be usable only if the ionospheric effect can be accounted
for, either by estimation or by modelling.
The TEC behaviour and its modelling is an issue of concern for the next
years due to the proximity of the solar maximum, as this will be a period
of enhanced impact on radio signals.
This session will focus on presentations about TEC measurements and TEC
models.
Please pass-on this message to any colleagues that might be interested and
missing from our mailing list.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Barcelona!
Deadline for submittal of abstracts: February 15, 2010
Sincerely yours,
Andrzej Krankowski
Esther Sardon
