Dear IGS Colleagues,
Today, starting with our Ultra-Rapid solutions of 12 o'clock (day 217 of
2010), we are switching all our IGS GNSS analysis to use the latest
release of our NAPEOS software, version 3.5. At the same time we also
switch the processing platform from our older Sun machines to more up to
date PCs running the Linux OS.
Although the latest NAPEOS version does offer several enhanced processing
features these are not yet used in our IGS analysis. So the more important
change right now is the hardware change which improves the speed of our
processing with a factor of 4. This has allowed us to enhance our
Ultra-Rapid analysis in the following ways:
Increase the number of stations from 85 to 110 making the number the same
as used in our FINAL analysis
Use the pseudo-range observations of the GLONASS satellites, something we
did not do until now to save on CPU time.
Wait a bit longer for the last hourly RINEX files, meaning we now start 30
minutes after the last hour instead of 20 minutes.
Despite these changes our Ultra-Rapid solutions are finished much earlier
then they used to be and are available ~1 hour before the IGS submission
deadline.
We would like to remind you that all our IGS products are true GNSS
products, i.e., based on a fully combined analysis of the GPS and GLONASS
observations.
These changes have been carefully tested but if you notice anything
strange please let us know ASAP.
Many greetings,
Tim Springer
