Dear Colleague,
Is it possible to forward the following e-mail to the colleagues who may be interested, and/or to put an advertisement?
Thank you very much,
Best regards,
M. Van Camp

Dear colleagues,
We draw your attention to this special session of the 2010 AGU Fall Meeting:
G07: Estimating the Accuracy of Geodetic Measurements
Conveners: M. Van Camp (Royal Observatory of Belgium), E. Calais (Purdue U.), J. Henton (Natural Resources Canada), O. de Viron (U. Denis Diderot& IPGP)
Solicited talks:
-Richard Gross (NASA-JPL)
-Jim Ray (NOAA-National Geodetic Survey)
-Paul Tregoning (Aaustralian National University)
-Tim Wright (University of Leeds)
Session description:
Geodesy is always struggling to increase the measurement precision, but
estimating what is the accuracy of the obtained numbers - and what this
accuracy means exactly - is challenging. This can be done e.g. by
analysing the space/time signature of the noise in a quiet area, or by
comparing the data to (an)other determination(s)/model(s) of the same
signal. Contributions are solicited, dealing with the estimation of the
accuracy of an isolated value (for instance a single absolute gravity
measurement at a given location), a time series or a spatial patterns,
acquired by land based - or space - geodetic measurements (field
gravimetry, levelling, GPS, SLR, VLBI, InSAR, altimetry or gravity
missions as GRACE, GOCE,...).
Abstract submissions are scheduled to open on 21 July and close on 2
September. For more information visit the AGU website:

We are looking forward to meeting you,
M. Van Camp, E. Calais, J. Henton, O. de Viron
