IERS Workshop on EOP Combination and Prediction - Second Announcement

Dear Colleagues,

Updated information about the IERS Workshop on Earth Orientation
Parameters (EOP) Combination and Prediction which will be held at the
Space Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw,
POLAND, October 19-21, 2009 is available at the following website:

http://www.cbk.waw.pl/EOPPW2009/

Please note that the abstract and pre-registration deadlines have been
extended to August 31, 2009.

This workshop is organized by the IERS Working Group on Prediction. The
main goal of the Workshop is to provide the current state-of-the-art for
EOP prediction in terms of data sets and algorithms as well as to
discuss recommended actions for improving EOP prediction, including
improving the IERS rapid combined series.

Scientific Organizing Committee:
Bill Wooden (co-chair), Wieslaw Kosek (co-chair), Orhan Akyilmaz,
Aleksander Brzezinski, Tonie van Dam, Daniel Gambis, Richard Gross,
Brian Luzum, Zinovy Malkin, Jim Ray, and Harald Schuh

The preliminary scientific program consists of the following sessions:
SESSION 1: Earth Orientation Parameters: a-priori models, observations,
and combined solutions
1.1 Space Geodetic EOP Observations
1.2 EOP Tide Models
1.3 EOP Combinations
SESSION 2: Geophysical excitation functions and their prediction
SESSION 3: EOP prediction techniques and algorithms
The Workshop concludes with a "Discussion and Recommendations for the
Future."

Abstract submission and Registration

The abstract submission and the pre-registration can be done using the
forms posted on the Workshop website. The regular registration fee is
200 EURO and should be paid by cash at the registration desk of the
