Due to a very minimal number of Rapid clock solutions
available during 31 Dec 2008 - 01 Jan 2009, the IGRT
timescale used to align the IGS Rapid clock products
experienced an unusually high level of instability
during that period. It remained much better than BRDC
GPS time, however. Note that this should have minimal
impact on geodetic positioning results, which are not
sensitive to the level of clock instability.
Users of IGS Rapid products for time/frequency transfer
applications should be aware of this issue and are
advised to consider reprocessing their results when the
IGS Final products are issued next week.
Our apologies for any inconvenience to users.
