Dear Members of the IGS Community,

In August 2004 the former Allen Osborne Associates, Inc. (AOA) became
part of the ITT Corporation (ITT). During this time, we have continued
to manufacture and support the existing AOA products. We appreciate
that the IGS community has been a loyal user of these geodetic-quality
products, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for
your patronage.

In 2006 the European Community began implementing the "Restrictions on
the use of Hazardous Material" (RoHS) directive. While we intend to
transition some of our products to the lead-free format, a number of
older products are being discontinued due to low volume and the
prohibitive cost of redesign. To ensure ITT can support our customers
effectively, we will be discontinuing products reaching the end of their
lifecycle. The End-of-Life (EOL) for a product is a process whereby the
availability of technical support, replacement parts, software, and
firmware is phased out for products being discontinued. The EOL process
begins when the product is removed from the ITT price list and is no
longer available for purchase. Upon the onset of EOL, ITT will support
the final firmware release and continue to offer repair services for
products under warranty as long as replacement parts are available. The
End-of-Support (EOS) date is estimated based on current inventory and
availability of parts, and is subject to change depending on level of
repair activity. All previously published support information regarding
an EOS product will continue to be available through various automated
support services, including our internet site,
http://www.acd.itt.com/gps.htm (currently under reconstruction). All
service agreements will be honored through the term of the contract, but
no extended service agreements will be available on products that have
entered the EOL period. The (EOL start) dates in the table below
specify the last date that ITT will accept orders for the product.
Please note, all orders received for products on or after the EOL start
date will be subject to prior sale and availability.

Products no longer available for sale are indicated below together with
their EOL and EOS status and their suggested replacement product(s).

Product Name / Part Number / In Stock / EOL Start / EOS Status /
Replacement

SNR-8000 / 7490540 / No / EOL / EOS / N/A
SNR-8100 / 7490430 / No / EOL / EOS / N/A
ICS-4000Z / 4250250 / No / EOL / EOS / N/A
SNR-12 RM / 7490760 / No / EOL / EOS / N/A
Benchmark Field-Unit / 7490930 / Yes / March 2007 / June 2007 / TBA
Benchmark RM / 7490900 / Yes / March 2007 / June 2007 / TBA

For example, the end of March 2007 is the latest date for any EOL buy
for the Benchmark product line. All other products have already reached
their EOL and EOS milestones.
However, since the "AOA choke-ring antenna" is still the best calibrated
and most-widely used GPS antenna in geodetic networks, we will continue
to build, sell and support this product.

If you are interested to make an EOL purchase, please contact Kazia
Tukalski at Tel.: 805-262-3102 or e-mail: Kazia.tukalski at itt.com.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions or need any
additional information.

Sincerely,
Kazia Tukalski
Contracts Manager
