there is a free post at the Department of Satellite Geodesy in Graz 
starting with 2007:


Staff Scientist in Satellite Geodesy

The Department of Satellite Geodesy of the Institute of Space Research
of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, invites applications for the position
of Junior or Senior Scientist in Satellite Geodesy, effective January 1, 
2007.

Position Profile: Applicants are expected to have a broadly based knowledge
in satellite geodesy in general and in geodynamics in particular.
Research expertise in the areas of geodynamics, satellite laser ranging,
satellite altimetry, orbit determination, and other related disciplines 
is desirable.
A PhD in science or engineering (preferable geosciences), computer 
skills as well
as social competence are required.

The Institute: The Space Research Institute of the Austrian Academy of 
Sciences
focuses on Solar System Exploration, Space Plasma Physics, and Satellite 
Geodesy.
It contributes to many international space projects and cooperates with
the European Space Agency (ESA), with national space agencies in the US 
(NASA),
in France (CNES), in Japan (JAXA), and in China (CNSA). With about 80 
staff members
from 10 different nations it is among the largest institutes of the 
Austrian Academy
of Sciences.

The Department: The Department of Satellite Geodesy operates a few GPS 
permanent stations
and a world-class satellite laser ranging station. It carries out 
scientific analyses
of global and regional GNSS- and SLR observations for the improvement of 
models in
geodesy and geodynamics. It contributes to the determination and 
monitoring of
international reference frames (ITRF, IGS) in the context of the ILRS 
and IGS services.
The present geodynamic research activities concentrate on the region of 
South-East Europe.
The department comprises 15 staff members.
