Subject: IGS absolute antenna model igs05_1364.atx, update including GLONASS
Dear colleagues,
As already announced (IGSMAIL-5189) the IGS is preparing a switch from
relative to absolute antenna calibrations. For several months
the new model was already used in parallel tests, which will enable the
IGS to set up a consistent new reference frame.
Recently, CODE has computed antenna PCVs and offsets for all GPS and GLONASS
satellites based on a reprocessing for the intervals January and August 2004,
March 2005 and June to December 2005.
The solution for the GPS satellites is in good agreement with the existing
models, in PCV and offsets. Therefore we are confident that the simultaneously
estimated GLONASS parameters are consistent with the existing model for GPS.
The mean pattern for GLONASS (including GLONASS-M) [mm] is:
2.7 0.3 -0.1 -0.5 -0.8 -0.8 -0.5 -0.2 -0.3 -0.2 -0.2 0.1
-0.1 -0.1 0.7
This pattern was fixed in a second step, together with the GPS antenna
patterns and offsets, to generate the antenna offsets for all active
GLONASS satellites (referenced to epoch 2000.0):
GLONASS Slot Offset [mm]
701 6 2187.6 +- 16.7 nobs: 193
711 5 1912.1 +- 21.6 nobs: 242
712 7 2330.3 +- 19.1 nobs: 162
783 18 1906.6 +- 11.0 nobs: 322
787 17 2044.6 +- 15.1 nobs: 275
788 24 2073.8 +- 15.3 nobs: 251
789 3 1971.0 +- 16.6 nobs: 256
791 22 1978.1 +- 11.5 nobs: 317
792 21 1954.7 +- 13.4 nobs: 284
793 23 1987.0 +- 10.5 nobs: 321
794 2 1939.2 +- 13.9 nobs: 228
795 4 2001.0 +- 15.0 nobs: 228
796 1 1924.2 +- 13.1 nobs: 219
797 8 1817.8 +- 20.3 nobs: 197
798 19 2044.4 +- 25.8 nobs: 25
The inclusion of the GLONASS antenna models completes now the new model.
Additionally, the following calibrations were added to the latest version:
TRM29659.00 SCIS (RABT, SLOR)
TRM29659.00 SCIT (not in use within the IGS)
TRM41249.00 SCIT (not in use within the IGS)
After the official release of the ITRF2005 within a few weeks the IGS will
define the new IGS05 reference frame and will officially switch to the
absolute antenna model.
The latest version of the model can be found at:
