We have just been told that NASA GSFC will close today at noon EDT
and remain closed on Friday Sept. 19 due to the threat from hurricane
Isabel.  The hurricane is expected to pass through our area this afternoon
with possible flooding and severe wind gusts. Therefore, we will shut down
the CDDIS computer facility by 1:00 EDT today.  The major weather problems
should pass through our area by tomorrow afternoon.  If possible, we will try
to bring cddisa.gsfc.nasa.gov back up tomorrow (9/19) but it may not be until
this weekend that we are able to resume operations. We regret the problems
the outage will cause but we feel it is in the best interest of the staff and
the facility to shut it down since non-essential GSFC personnel will not be
permitted onsite to deal with any problems.
