Input Submission Due Date for 2002 Report:

   ------->>>>>   Thursday September 18, 2003  <<<----

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is time to prepare your submissions for the IGS 2002 Technical Report.

The IGS 2001 Technical Report was never completed and misses some
major contributions since the end of last year. The Governing Board
has directed me to close the 2001 Report and move to complete the IGS
2002 Technical Report. What we can do is publish the 2002 and
include a 2001 section. We truly need a dedicated effort to complete
this 2002 TR document, a record of the technical accomplishments of
the IGS is our responsibility and proves to be very valuable.

As a reminder, the 2000 TR has been available in PDF format on the
IGS website under publications:
     http://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/overview/pubs.html
To date we have not printed this document and direct requests for it
to the PDF location.

We do plan to print hardcopies of the 2002 Technical Report.
However, one advantage of the website/PDF file is that a number of
the plots and figures are in color, while the printed versions are
black and white.

ANNUAL REPORT 2001-2002 Update
---------------------------------------------------------
Due to the budget/schedule difficulties in publishing the reports in
2001 & 2002, the Board also decided that the Annual Report should be
a combined 2001-2002 Report. This is the brief volume capturing the
highlights of the IGS that is widely distributed and generally very
well received. The report is close to being printed, many thanks to
everyone for their contributions.

2002 Technical Report Report Details
------------------------------------------------------

Below you can see the proposed Table of Contents. We must complete
the report this year. A few years ago the Governing Board stated:

-->>>> It is our intent to ensure <<<<< ---
that the committed components of the IGS document
their status, processes and developments annually.

So please make a concerted effort this year to meet the deadlines.
It is unfair to our colleagues who always meet the deadlines with
their contributions and then do not see the final report released.

Authors not listed below should feel free to contribute if
appropriate by following the guidelines. If a different author than
listed below will be contributing for your organization, please
advise the CB or Ken Gowey (kgowey at jpl.nasa.gov), our technical
support editor, so that we may update this table.
Any questions? Please contact us.
