Dear Colleagues,

   Yesterday, June 5, the GSFC campus was hit with the Bugbear worm 
which is transmitted as an email attachment and affects Windows systems.  
The center network security team decided to block the email port on the
GSFC firewall.  Therefore, email to any colleague at GSFC will not be
delivered until this block is lifted.  At this time, we do not know when
email traffic will resume but it will probably not be earlier than the
afternoon of Friday June 6.  Ftp and web access should not be affected
by this port blockage.  We regret the inconvenience this problem is
causing the international community.
