To the GPS community,

SOPAC's primary, and long-lived (~6 years), ftp server (lox.ucsd.edu)  
requires open heart surgery today to replace a power supply that died last
night.  For the time being, ftp://lox.ucsd.edu is wholly unavailable.  
However, our new ftp server has been ready (and is configured with the
exact same paths and setup as lox) for the past month.  I urge anyone
wanting to access data from SOPAC, via ftp, for any reason, to switch
permanently to garner.ucsd.edu as soon as possible.

	OLD -> ftp://lox.ucsd.edu
	NEW -> ftp://garner.ucsd.edu

This change is effective immediately, and permanently.  After we fix lox, 
it will be available for a short period of time (~1 month or less) to help 
ease the transition for our users.

Ironically, we had hoped to compose a more business-like message, under 
more controlled circumstances, only days from now.  Unfortunately, old 
computer hardware doesn't always conform to human schedules.  :)

We're doing all we can to help expedite and ease the transition, both 
internally and externally.  Please accept our apologies for the 
inconvenience.
