Advisory:
This advisory is to request feedback from users of data from the Jabiru
(JAB1) site in the Northern Territory.
In recent weeks we have had two GPS receivers damaged at Jabiru due to
lightning strikes, and the site is presently not operational. As a result we
are considering shuttting the site down for the wet season (November -
March), this decision is mostly based on the risk to equipment from
lightning activity, and also the cost and complexity of providing protection
to the site.
Therefore we would be very interested in finding out what users current
requirements are, and what impact this decision may have.
Feedback from users can be forwarded to either bobtwilley at auslig.gov.au or
pauldigney at auslig.gov.au
Regards
Paul Digney
