||   Information for the GPS/Geodesy Lecturer  ONLY ||

RMIT University, Department of Geospatial Science invites applications for the position of Lecturer B (equivalent to Assistant Professor in North American system) in GPS/Geodesy.  Applicants should have a PhD or equivalent in GPS, geodesy or a closely related area of the measurement science.
The successful applicant will have specialist expertise in GPS and Geodesy. She/He will be a member of the measurement science team, and help lead, undertake and participate in teaching and learning programs in the measurement sciences including lectures, labs, camp and field teaching programs at a variety of levels and in all courses, including the appropriate organisational and administration aspects.  The role includes contributing to the research and development programs of the Department, including supervision of postgraduates, publication of refereed papers and winning of competitive research funds.  The position provides an exciting opportunity to be intimately involved in a major expansion of geospatial science R&D at RMIT. 
The Department of Geospatial Science is the largest academic organization in Australia involved in the education of Geospatial Scientists at the tertiary level.  The Department offers Bachelor of Applied Science degrees in Surveying, Geomatics and Multimedia Cartography as well as double degree in Geomatics/computer Science. It also offers a full range of postgraduate degrees through to doctoral level.  The Department is well equipped with up-to-date IT laboratories and its staff undertake a diverse range of academic and commercial activities based on Geospatial technology applications, in Australia and overseas.
The position is available for three (3) years in the first instance. There will be a probationary period of three months at the commencement of the contract. There is a high possibility that this position will be converted to a permanent/tenure position subject to performance and fund availability
