The "Bundesamt fuer Kartographie und Geodaesie" (Federal
Agency for Cartography and Geodesy), a federal institution
assigned to the Federal Ministry of the Interior, is
seeking for its department G2 within the Division of Geodesy
- National Reference Systems/Networks for Position Determinations -

a Scientific Assistant (for the salaried position VerGr IIa/I acc.
to the German civil service salary scale) to be employed at earliest
convenience at the Central Office in Frankfurt/Main.

Tasks, product area Geodetic Reference Systems:

- Near real-time processing and analysis of GPS data
- Modelling of the influences of the ionosphere and the troposphere
- Developments on the automation of a GPS network for the Federal
  Republic of Germany
- Co-ordination of works on the networking of GPS permanent stations

Requirements:

- Completed study at university level in the field of geodesy
- In-depth knowledge in the domain of real-time GPS permanent-network
  stations evaluation
- Qualification for instructing and supervising working groups
- Capability of teamwork
- Pertinent experiences gained in science work
- Good command of foreign languages, particularly of English
- Doctorate desired

Given that the BKG endeavours to increase the proportion of his female
staff applications for this vacancy by women scientists are encouraged
