Subject: Unix utilities for Ashtech receivers

Dear IGS Colleagues, 

We have put a small collection of utilities and PERL scripts that allow
some basic operations under Unix/Linux with Ashtech receivers. The
source code and binaries can be obtained at the following ftp address:

ftp://ftp.ashtech.com/software/remote33

The utilities come with source code under GNU General Public License, so
feel free to use and distribute it.  Any feedback is appreciated, but
please read the license first ;-).

The following functionalities were implemented:
1. Connecting to the remote or local receiver. 
2. Program the data recording sessions and other parameters.
3. Download the recorded data.
4. Convert the downloaded data to the RINEX format using the UNAVCO
teqc.
5. Email the download report.

The program is called remote33, the backbone of which are the utilities:
convert - Convert the R, or U Ashtech files to B,E,S
rx/rz - Download data from the receiver via XMODEM/ZMODEM
teqc - UNAVCO teqc, Convert B,E,S Ashtech formats to RINEX
All these utilities are glued together by remote33.pl PERL script.
This script can be customized to fit particular user needs.
