A GPS Modernization Workshop

in joint sponsorship with the
GPS Interagency Advisory Council (GIAC)
-- The overall civil GPS Modernization issue --
The civil community must identify (by early '98) their
needs for improvements and system changes in the next
generation GPS. These requirements need consideration
in the current GPS planning, decision and
implementation process.
Critical concern: The next generation GPS (IIF) will be
operational to about 2020 - the next opportunity for
substantial changes!
The workshop includes the participation of
DoT DoD DoS DoC DoI FAA USCG NASA NTIA FCC
Also including broad participation from U.S. industry;
commercial and private users; standards committees;
land, marine and aviation associations; the academic
community; international organizations and others.

This workshop is a follow-up to the GIAC/ION meeting
