Subject: GPS Station Ankara/Turkey
GPS Permanent Tracking Station in ANKARA, capital
of Turkey, stopped observations 31.May.1996 (day 152),
due a unknown lack of the equipment.
In close cooperation between General Command of Mapping
(Turkey) and Institut fuer Angewandte Geodaesie (Germany),
we detected a malfunctioning receiver, a malfunctioning
antenna and a malfunctioning monitor. The reason was
unknown (maybe lightening).
Institut fuer Angewandte Geodaesie made available another
receiver, antenna and monitor and we replaced all parts.
The ANKARA GPS Permanent Tracking Station is operational again
and started observations 1996-JUL-23, day 205.
With best regards
Onur Lenk (General Command of Mapping GCM)
Rudi Stoeger (Institut fuer Angewandte Geodaesie IfAG)
