Subject: Monument Peak PGGA
Date: 5 April 1994
A new site, Monument Peak, has been installed in the Southern California PGGA
by SIO in collaboration with Goddard Space Flight Center. This station is an active NASA Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR) facility. The baseline from Monument
Peak to Quincy (also active) has a long record of geodetic observations. Site
ties have already been made to existing SLR and GPS monuments but have not yet
been analyzed.
The first day of tracking was 1 April. Data will be downloaded by SIO via an
Internet link to the site. However, the computer at the site needs a hardware
upgrade (new serial port) for downloading the data from the receiver. We plan
to perform this upgrade this week. Until then, data will be available on the SIO
archive with a 4-5 day lag.
The site information form mailed to the IGS is given below.
