Beginning with this week's submission, we have corrected a bug in our software
which resulted in occasional large (hundreds of meters to 3-4 km) errors in
the sp1 (and sp3) products. The error would occur only when a spacecraft was
within 3 degrees of perfect alignment with the earth and sun (which occurs for
eclipsing satellites for a ~10-minute period every six hours). We expect that
1 or 2 records in a thousand may have been affected (where a "record" is
defined as the reported position of one satellite at one time.)
Earth orientation and terrestrial site locations were not affected by this
error.
Thanks to Jan Kouba, Pierre Tetreault, and Clyde Goad for providing us
with helpful diagnostic information.
Also beginning with this week's submission, our ephemerides refer to
the spacecraft center of mass instead of the antenna phase center.
A-S testing occurred during "10 Oct 92 0100 UT to 12 Oct 92 1000 UT" and
"17 Oct 92 0100 UT to 19 Oct 92 1000 UT", according to the file
pub/gps/gpstd.txt obtained from tycho.usno.navy.mil. Results for Sunday,
Oct 11, and Saturday, Oct 17, are not included in this submission. The
results for Monday, Oct 12, exclude data from Block-II satellites
acquired when operating in cross-correlated mode.
Also, according to the file pub/gps/gpsn4.txt, GPS26 was scheduled unusable
for up to 8 hours on 13 Oct 92 (day 287). Our analysis confirms that the
behaviour of this satellite is poorly modeled on that day. The corresponding
data have thus been de-weighted.
We continue to de-weight data from GPS27 for this week.
WARNING: GPS26 is not well modeled on Tuesday, Oct 13. We recommend using
the broadcast ephemeris for that satellite and day.

information and coordinates,updated version of IERS/IGS Tables in IGS Mail
No. 65 - (Boucher and Altamimi).

- There were problems with Tidbinbilla during the whole week and so we
took Hobart instead of Tidbinbilla into our ground station network.
- On day 297 (October 23), we had no data from Goldstone and from San-
tiago. Instead of Goldstone JPL Mesa has been used on this day.
