Januar 2024 15:09 An: IGS-MGWG Mailing List Betreff: [IGS-MGWG] Multi-GNSS Pilot Project / Working Group Meeting Dear colleagues, in view of sparse response on my earlier poll for a personal meeting at EGU, I would now plan to hold the next meeting of the Multi-GNSS Pilot Poject / Working Group virtually (via Skype for Business) in the next month. Given the time zones of the majority of members, I'd suggest a morning time in Europe = evening in Asia, namely 08:00 UTC = 09:00 CEST (Paris,Potsdam,Munich) = 16:00 CST (Wuhan, Shanghai) = 17:00 JST (Tokyo) Alternatively, we could meet at 11:00 UTC = 12:00 CEST (Paris,Potsdam,Munich) = 19:00 CST (Wuhan, Shanghai) = 20:00 JST (Tokyo) = 07:00 AST (Fredericton) to include our Canadian members (during breakfast) . Concerning dates, I would like to offer Feb 19 (Mon), 22 (Thu), and 23 (Fri) as possible alternatives. Please indicate your preferences at https://terminplaner6.dfn.de/p/d949ab095bccc1b1c4add5154be65d40-577212 Thanks and best regards, Oliver -- Oliver Montenbruck DLR, German Space Operations Center Oberpfaffenhofen D-82234 Wessling Germany Tel. +49 (8153) 28-1195 Fax +49 (8153) 28-1450 e-mail oliver.montenbruck at dlr.de -- IGS-MGWG mailing list IGS-MGWG at lists.igs.org https://lists.igs.org/mailman/listinfo/igs-mgwg From Oliver.Montenbruck at dlr.de Thu Feb 15 08:58:48 2024 From: Oliver.Montenbruck at dlr.de (Oliver.Montenbruck at dlr.de) Date: Thu, 15 Feb 2024 08:58:48 +0000 Subject: [IGS-MGWG] Virtual Multi-GNSS Pilot Project / Working Group Meeting Message-ID: <7f7c52a7bad24ba09aa268a16a2ce323@dlr.de> Dear colleagues, based on the (once again very sparse) response to the latest poll, there's a clear preference to hold the next MGWG meeting on Friday Feb 23, 2024 at 11:00-12:30 UTC (11:00 UTC = 12:00 CEST (Paris,Potsdam,Munich) = 19:00 CST (Wuhan, Shanghai) = 20:00 JST (Tokyo) = 07:00 AST (Fredericton)). Topics to be discussed will include * Status of Combination Task Force; findings and recommendations for multi-GNSS product generation * BeiDou/QZSS campaign (initiated by Reference Frame Coordinator) for PCO/PV calibration and alignment with IGS20 * WG/PP Chair transition I kindly ask all members to attend on this dat, even if they did not reply to the last poll. It includes a couple of slides (labelled "Discussion") that were prepared online during the meeting and summarize the contributions of the various attendants? to the joint discussion. All MGEX ACs representatives that did not attend, - please have a look at the requests for adding midnight epochs as well as quaternions and optionally ERPs/SINEX files to your multi-GNSS products and let us know, whether you can accommodate these extensions. * * Concerning the future of the MGWG/PP, the majority of participants encouraged a continuation of the group to serve as a platform for exploring and characterization of new systems and satellites. Also, a need for guidance of multi-GNSS? aspects in the ongoing ACC transition and product consolidation for a transitional period was identified. In the absence of other volunteers, Peter Steigenberger offered to serve as the future MGWG/PP chair after my retirement to enable a continuation of the ongoing work. No decision has been taken, though, and I would like to encourage all members that could not attend today - to please indicate their interest in chairing the WG, or otherwise - to indicate their support for Peter to be proposed to the Governing Board as the new WG chair. We checked it out and provide feedbacks to your requests as follows; > - please have a look at the requests for adding midnight epochs as > well as quaternions and optionally ERPs/SINEX files to your multi-GNSS > products and let us know, whether you can accommodate these > extensions. * > * adding midnight epochs -> Our software, MADOCA, has already had this function. quaternions -> Not yet implemented. We have a plan to do until the coming autumn (Sep. to Nov.) 2024. ERPs/SINEX files -> We are providing. In addition, we have almost implemented adding BDS-3 POD function to MADOCA and will move onto the evaluation of the product quality. We will provide it including JAX product at latest august 2024. > Concerning the future of the MGWG/PP, the majority of participants > encouraged a continuation of the group to serve as a platform for > exploring and characterization of new systems and satellites. We are willing to contribute to the activities for MGWG/PP, since we are recognizing WG/PP activities are very important for proceeding preparation for future multi-GNSS product including constellations which has not yet combined as OPS product. > Peter Steigenberger offered to serve as the future MGWG/PP chair after > my retirement to enable a continuation of the ongoing work. We totally agree that Peter will succeed your position as WG/PP chair and recommend him to GB. In addition, I am considering change JAXA's POC of MGWG from myself to Kyohei. Could you accept with this request and update mailing list for MGWG/PP? Many thanks for your great efforts and strong leadership.
