Hi Fran and Carey,

As the IGS Infrastructure Committee Chair I will participate and work on
implementation.

For the IGS the XML is a means to an end so that automated systems such
as the IGS SLM can disseminate its official IGS station metadata to
other station management systems regularly, have problems identified
automatically and inconsistencies corrected quickly.

At the last IGS workshop we agreed at the IC splinter to foster the
sharing of XML data among existing systems such as the IGS SLM, the GFZ
SEMISYS, the GA DB, the EPN, etc. Therefore this is a great way forward,
thanks for the effort and the coordination. Please let me know if any of
the aforementioned systems are not represented in this discussion so
that I can contact them and we can add them, we do not want to have two
or three parallel discussions on this subject.

regards,

Nacho
