[GNSS4DRR] Sunday GRC-GTEWS_Oceania business meeting

Dear All,

This is a reminder of the up coming IUGG  GeoRislk Commission Business Meeting on Sunday July 16 at 10 AM Berlin, Germany local time.  The meeting will be held in room R3 of the City Code and via Zoom.

The main topic of the meeting will be a discussion of the GRC’s primary project - the GTEWS_Oceania Initiative. The goal of the GTEWS_Oceania Initiative is the development of a GNSS Tsunami Early Warning System that will augment existing capabilities in the South Pacific and hopefully develop a model that might be accepted for an Indo-Pacific GTEWS. The GRC seeks to encourage the leadership of the member nations of the South Pacific in forming the GTEWS_Oceania. The meeting may also include some  topics related to the functions of the GRC that are included in the agenda below. The meeting will be conducted via Zoom and will be recorded for future reference. 

We expect a good representation by members of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics who have an interest in the views of the representatives of the Oceania institutions concerning this topic.  We encourage all to attend but especially members of the Oceania independent nations and those of New Zealand, Chile, France and the US who oversee the development of territories within Oceania. We hope to have a robust discussion on the development of GTEWS_Oceania. 

If you are joining the meeting in Berlin, please bring a laptop or cell phone to facilitate recording your views and comments within the Zoom recording.
