Sea-level Interactions and the Next Generation of Glacial Isostatic Models</span></b></a><b>”</b> at the 2014 Fall AGU. This is Geodesy Session #2169 and is further described by:<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">The cryosphere interacts with the solid Earth and sea level over time scales varying from as short as geodetic observations to the span of glacial cycles. These interactions are both complex and multidisciplinary
and the study of past, present and future sea level is nuanced by this complexity. Modeling of the solid Earth response to cryosphere changes plays a critical role in decontaminating both regional and global geodetic signals for the studies of hydrological,
ice sheet and ocean mass changes and is a critical factor in supporting interpretations of time-variable gravity from space missions (GRACE). In this session we invite submissions that use geodetic observations and/or numerical modeling of solid Earth-cryosphere
interaction including extrapolations of rock-mechanics based constitutive theories to the mantle and crust. We also welcome broader cryosphere-geosphere interactions such as ice sheet sea-level coupling and the contribution of glacial induced stress changes
to earthquakes and magmatic events.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
